Festival Overview
Estate Romana transforms Rome into one of Europe’s largest open-air cultural stages, where museums, historic piazzas, archaeological parks, cinemas, and performance venues become connected by warm summer evenings rather than a single festival gate. Instead of asking visitors to spend the day in one location, the program encourages exploration across the Eternal City, pairing world-class exhibitions, concerts, outdoor cinema, literature, and public performances with neighborhoods that have been alive for centuries. One evening may begin with an exhibition or literary discussion, continue through an open-air concert or film screening, and end over wine in a lively piazza where conversations continue long after the official program has finished. Estate Romana is less a festival to attend than a way of experiencing Rome at its most vibrant after sunset.
