Festival Overview
Pushkar Camel Fair spreads across two very different worlds that keep feeding into each other: the camel fairgrounds and desert-edge trading areas on one side, and the sacred town around Pushkar Lake ghats and the Brahma Temple approaches on the other. One hour you are watching camel and livestock trading scenes in dust and morning light; later you are back in town among pilgrims, temple-bound families, market lanes, and holy lake rituals. That overlap of livestock fair, folk spectacle, and Kartik Purnima pilgrimage is what gives Pushkar its particular charge.
