Festival Overview
Ljubljana gathers around the Ljubljanica River in a walkable center of bridges, Baroque façades, market arcades, student energy, and architecture shaped by Jože Plečnik. Druga Godba uses that compact capital as a listening map for adventurous music from the Balkans and wider world.
Rather than treating artists as representatives of fixed categories, the festival places folk roots, improvisation, electronic practice, song, and hybrid forms in conversation across clubs, cultural centers, outdoor spaces, and concert halls.
The audience moves through the city between sets, allowing riverside cafés and late walks to become part of the rhythm. Its scale favors curiosity over spectacle and gives unfamiliar artists the same serious attention that larger festivals reserve for established names.
