Festival Overview
Aix-les-Bains meets Lac du Bourget with Belle Époque facades, wooded Alpine slopes, thermal-spa history, and a waterfront broad enough to hold one of France’s most scenic large music festivals. Musilac places multiple open-air stages along the Esplanade du Lac, where rock, pop, electronic music, chanson, and international touring acts gather beneath mountains reflected in the country’s largest natural lake. The scale is substantial, but the geography keeps the event from feeling anonymous. Afternoon light remains on the water while early sets begin; food and conversations spread across the grass; then stage lighting takes command as the ridgelines darken. Audiences move through a compact lakeside site rather than a remote campground, returning to town by foot, shuttle, or bicycle. The result is a summer concert experience in which the Alpine landscape supplies breathing space, weather, and visual drama between high-volume sets.
