Gran Poder Festival is centered around La Paz procession route. Depending on the edition, activity can spill into nearby streets, squares, secondary stages, public gathering zones, and partner venues across La Paz.

Reach the procession route through central La Paz early if you want a fixed curbside view, because spectators line up well before the busiest parade hours and cross-street movement becomes difficult once the Entrada del Gran Poder is fully underway. Keep water, sun protection, and a layer for the temperature drop in a small secure bag, since the combination of altitude, steep streets, and long standing periods around the Garita de Lima area and other dense sections wears people down. Pick a meeting point off the route before the day starts, and do not count on quick vehicle pickups near closed streets after dark.

The pressure point is location on festival day: rooms with easier access to the procession route through central La Paz and the Garita de Lima area carry more value because road closures and slow exits make distant lodging less convenient. A cheaper stay farther out can save money on the room but may cost time and hassle on May 30 when pickups near route entry and exit points are difficult. Food from stalls along the entrada stays relatively accessible, while the bigger budget decision is whether you pay more to sleep close enough to reach the route on foot.

The densest curbside sections of the procession route bring the biggest issues: crowd compression, blocked crossings, and petty theft exposure, especially when spectators are packed shoulder to shoulder for the Entrada del Gran Poder. Watch your footing on steep streets and sidewalks in central La Paz, pace yourself for altitude and long hours, and be selective with informal food stall clusters if hygiene matters to you. After the evening flow thins, late-night dispersal areas around closed streets can leave you with slow exits and limited transport availability.
