Festival Overview
The Valparaiso Popcorn Festival turns downtown Valparaiso into a one-day celebration of the city’s connection to popcorn and former resident Orville Redenbacher. Lincolnway and the surrounding streets fill with food booths, arts and crafts vendors, live entertainment, family activities, a morning run, and a large community parade. Popcorn appears in classic, sweet, savory, and novelty forms, but the broader experience is a Midwestern downtown festival built around local pride. Brick storefronts, courthouse-area streets, restaurants, and neighborhood crowds give the day a strong sense of place beyond the theme food.
