Festival Overview
Bourges gathers around a medieval core of timbered houses, quiet courtyards, and the soaring Gothic cathedral of Saint-Étienne. Each spring, Printemps de Bourges turns that compact city into one of France's defining live-music crossroads.
Major halls, theaters, temporary spaces, bars, and streets carry French chanson, rock, rap, electronic music, pop, and the emerging artists presented through Les Inouïs.
The festival is neither a single field nor a simple sequence of arena shows; its identity comes from moving through the center, hearing different audiences meet, and discovering that a national music institution can still feel embedded in a walkable provincial city. Cold rain, late nights, and difficult choices are part of the bargain, but so is the rare chance to watch France's musical present take shape in public.
