Festival Overview
Saint Lucia rises steeply from the Caribbean, its coastal roads connecting fishing towns, green interior ridges, the capital at Castries, and the northern bays around Gros Islet. Jazz and Arts Festival uses that varied island geography as part of its composition. Intimate performances and creative programs build toward large outdoor concerts at Pigeon Island National Landmark, where sea, ruined fortifications, and headlands surround the stage. The music moves freely beyond jazz into R&B, reggae, soca, Afro-Caribbean forms, and international crossover, while visual art, fashion, theater, dance, and spoken word widen the encounter. Rather than isolating visitors inside one venue, the festival makes travel across the island part of how its culture is heard.
