Festival Overview
Electronic culture occupies a capital of hills, tiled façades, warehouse districts, river light, and nights that begin late. Sónar Lisboa brings the Sónar philosophy—forward electronic music, audiovisual performance, digital creativity, and debate about technology—into that terrain.
Rather than behaving like a conventional headline festival, it links live sets, DJs, visual production, installations, and idea-driven programming across a concentrated urban schedule. The Portuguese capital adds its own cadence: daylight coffee and viewpoints, an evening meal taken seriously, then a deep transition into dance and image.
The strongest experience comes from allowing the festival and destination to illuminate each other, with creative reuse of civic and industrial space providing a natural home for work that crosses music, design, and technological experimentation.
