Southside is built around the former airfield-style grounds at Neuhausen ob Eck, where the route most people feel first runs from the Parking and shuttle drop-off area through the Entrance and wristband check and straight out toward the Campsite. From there, the site opens into a practical festival grid: the Main stage area pulls the biggest evening crowds, the Secondary stage area keeps people circulating earlier in the day, and the Food and drink court and Toilets sit in the middle of those long on-foot loops between music and tent breaks. For an attendee, the geography matters because this is not a quick in-and-out venue; you live the weekend by walking back and forth between your tent and the stages, with the whole place tightening toward the Main stage area as night comes on.

Pack for a long walk-in and a rougher underfoot setup than a city concert, because this site runs on foot from the Entrance and wristband check to the Campsite and on toward the stages. If there is one act you care about most, do not leave your move to the Main stage area until the last minute; the ground fills fast as evening sets approach. Keep one layer for the late-night walk back, one power bank for the full day, and one small locked-away stash for valuables in the tent rather than leaving everything loose in the Campsite.

The big split is whether you camp on site or commute in. Camping turns Southside into the full experience but adds gear, food, and extra drinks across June 20 to June 22; coming in through the Parking and shuttle drop-off area can save on camping kit but may mean repeated transport costs and slower arrival and exit windows. On site, the steady spend is at the Food and drink court for beer, coffee, sausage, fries, and quick meals, so even travelers who already have their ticket should budget for three days of festival-price basics rather than one evening out.

The tightest squeeze is the Main stage front section during headline sets, so step back early if you want more room instead of trying to push through once the crowd locks in. In the Campsite, secure your tent and keep valuables on you or well hidden, since noise, darkness, and constant movement make small thefts easier to miss. Watch your footing on the walk back after dark, especially if rain has softened the ground, and expect the longest waits at the Entrance and wristband check and around the Parking and shuttle drop-off area during opening arrivals and final departures.
