Base in Salzburg from December 4 through 6, but treat December 5 alone as the Krampusnacht festival stop. Use daylight hours for Salzburg's Advent markets and to understand the distinction between Krampus tradition, organized runs, and general seasonal entertainment. Attend only an officially announced event, verify its route and start time close to departure, and choose a viewing position that does not obstruct performers, stewards, or local families. December 4 and 6 are destination and travel days, not extensions of the festival's database window.
