For parade viewing, arrive by late morning or early afternoon if you want a cleaner position along the route. Wear shoes that can handle long stretches on foot, carry only what you can keep zipped and close in dense crowds, and set a clear pickup point away from closure zones because roadside pickups near processions can fail. Keep your phone charged, expect walking to beat short car rides in the core, and check the official schedule for which town is carrying the strongest program that day.

Central rooms in Panaji rise first, especially those within walking distance of parade corridors, so early booking matters more than luxury level. A lower budget often means staying a bit outside the core and relying on walking plus public transport, while mid-range spending can secure a central base that cuts down on closure-related delays. Higher spend goes toward premium central hotels and easier access on peak parade days rather than exclusive festival ticketing.
