Festival Overview
Rabat’s Atlantic light, white façades, palm-lined avenues, historic medina, and neighboring city of Salé form the backdrop for Mawazine, a vast urban music festival spread across multiple stages. International pop stars may command the largest crowds, but Arabic, Amazigh, African, and Moroccan artists give the program its cultural range.
Each venue reflects a different part of the capital: monumental open grounds, central cultural spaces, and river-linked districts create distinct audiences rather than one enclosed field. The scale can be astonishing, yet the festival remains tied to public city life through free performances and nightly movement across the metropolitan area.
