Festival Overview
Each August, the residential streets of West London become the setting for one of the world's largest celebrations of Caribbean culture. Sound systems, steel bands, elaborate costumes, food stalls, and parade groups transform Notting Hill into a constantly moving festival spread across an entire neighborhood. Unlike events contained within a fenced venue, the carnival unfolds through ordinary streets that temporarily become performance spaces, gathering places, dance floors, and parade routes. The experience feels less like attending an event and more like entering a city-sized celebration already in motion.
