Overview
Tallgrass Film Festival turns downtown Wichita into a compact run of screenings, lobby conversations, and post-film debate over three days in early March. The feel is less red carpet spectacle than a steady hop between Downtown Wichita screening venues, historic theater and cinema spaces used for festival screenings, and nearby bars and coffee shops where people keep talking long after the credits. You come for feature film screenings and short film blocks, but the shape of the weekend is built just as much by the pauses between them: pass pickup, line chatter, filmmaker sightings, and the scramble to make the next show on time.
