Festival Overview
Tempe sits in the Salt River Valley where desert mountains frame a college city of patios, light rail, sports culture, and warm-season events. Extra Innings Festival combines Americana, country, rock, and baseball references in that setting, using Tempe Beach Park and the nearby lakefront as a meeting point for concert crowds and spring-training travelers.
The concept is playful but specific: batting and player appearances sit beside full-scale music stages, while downtown restaurants and the Arizona State University district extend the day beyond the gates.
Desert weather governs the experience. Bright afternoon sun, dry air, dust, and a rapid temperature drop after dark require more planning than the compact map suggests.
