Festival Overview
On Culture Night, Copenhagen stays open long after its usual closing hours. Museums, churches, libraries, theaters, ministries, universities, and civic buildings admit visitors into rooms that are often difficult to see, while streets between them fill with people carrying programs and comparing where to go next.
The city itself becomes the route. One stop may be a candlelit church, the next a parliamentary chamber, a backstage corridor, a science demonstration, or a courtyard performance. The pleasure comes from seeing familiar institutions behave differently for one night and from discovering how much of Copenhagen’s public life is usually hidden behind office hours and doors.
