Most of the day is spent inside Ferropolis, the former industrial site outside Gräfenhainichen where the festival sits among giant industrial excavator cranes rather than in a park or city square. You come in through the entry and wristband checkpoint, then the flow splits between the camping areas and the main stage areas, with the walk between them becoming part of the rhythm as the crowd thickens toward evening. By night, those same routes lead back out toward the transport pickup points for non-campers, while campers peel off more slowly across the grounds under the steel silhouettes.

Ferropolis is exposed, so the heat can hit hard in the afternoon and the ground can feel rough underfoot by night; pack for both. If you are camping, sort your setup before the music pulls you away, because going back and forth with gear after the site fills up is a pain. Keep a little patience for the entry and wristband checkpoint, and do not leave your exit too tight if you are relying on a shuttle or taxi after the last big set. Once it gets dark, slow down on the pathways around the industrial site rather than trying to rush between stages.

Your biggest cost split is whether you camp at Ferropolis or base yourself farther out and pay for rail plus shuttle or taxi links into the site. Drinks on-site such as beer and cocktails add up fast over a long afternoon and night, while simple food like currywurst, pizza, and coffee is the easier way to keep spending in check. Late departures can also cost more if you miss the cheaper shared transport rhythm and end up needing a taxi from pickup points after headline sets.

Watch the stage-front crowd pockets during popular sets, especially later in the day when people press closer. The open exposed areas of Ferropolis leave you out in the sun and weather for hours, so water, sunscreen, and pacing matter. After dark, uneven industrial ground and dark pathways are the easy place to trip, particularly if you are moving quickly between stages or back to camping. At the end of the night, give yourself margin for slow lines at transport pickup points instead of assuming you will get straight out.
